Cleveland Regional Medical Center
commissioned Wilkerson Associates to develop their Facility Master Plan.
The plan indicated developing various "Centers of Excellence". Oncology
Services is one such area that was addressed.
The Medical Oncology Department was relocated to the front of the campus
in the Grover Building for accessibility and given a new inviting reception
/ waiting area. The Radiation Oncology service was relocated from the Radiology
Department to the Grover Building placing it adjacent to the new Medical
Oncology Services. This fulfilled the Hospital's strategic plan to provide
oncology services in a comprehensive Cancer Center.
The main treatment area for outpatient chemotherapy with relaxing recliners,
private treatment rooms, and exam rooms with centrally located nurses' station
provide the patients and the patients' families with a comforting environment
for treatment.
New construction at the Radiation Oncology services includes the Linear
Accelerator vault, mechanical room, and some control space for the vault.
Renovation includes the Simulator with control, Dosimetry space, work/reading
space, tumor registry, physician office space, conference space, three exam
rooms, nurse station and various support spaces.
