Dosher Hospital commissioned Wilkerson
Associates Architects to develop a Master Plan that incorporates the
current and anticipated needs of the facility to provide updated healthcare
for the growing community. The original hospital was not built, nor planned,
at a time when hospitals saw many outpatients. The Master
Plan emphasized bringing the hospital up to the most current
patient environments for the ever changing and growing outpatient needs.
Wilkerson Associates Architects was also
commissioned to architecturally implement the Master
Plan. The original portion of the Hospital built in
the 1930’s was demolished and a two-story addition built
in its place. The addition includes a new outpatient lobby,
Central Admissions, Outpatient Surgery, and Surgery on the
first floor. Another addition serves to expand both the
Emergency Department and Radiology. Renovations include
the balance of the Emergency Department, Radiology, Laboratory,
Inpatient Physical Therapy, Gift Shop, Medical Records, and Morgue.
The second floor includes Administration,
Business Office, Outpatient Physical Therapy, Accounting,
Information Systems, Human Resources, Employee Health, Marketing and Education.
