Nash Health Care Systems is working closely with University Health System in developing a new Heart Center for the Rocky Mount community. The new Heart Center will be positioned directly above the new Emergency Care Center and includes 2 Cath Labs, 1 Electrophysiology Lab, an eight-bed CVICU, Cardiac Cath Prep/Recovery Rooms, a Chest Pain Observation Unit and various support spaces.

The Emergency Care Center, in conjunction with the new Heart Center, will be located adjacent to the hospital’s existing Surgery Pavilion. The new ECC will nearly double the existing number of treatment spaces and feature a dedicated Pediatric Unit, a Fast Track area, 4 trauma rooms, 2 high intensity rooms, 4 isolation exam rooms, a six-bed Behavioral Health Unit and 23 Universal Exam rooms. A new helipad will be conveniently located next to the ECC to reduce patient transport times.
